Word Music has New Leader

Word Music has announced a new leader is coming on board June 15. That person is Mark Cabaniss, who has been at the helm of Shawnee Press for the past 4 years. I’m excited for Word. The print music division has been without an executive for over 2 years. At the same time, I am saddened a bit for Shawnee. I have close ties to both these companies. Shawnee Press was my very first publisher, and it still handles several of my best-selling choral pieces. Word Muisc handles more then 16 years of choral catalog. I very much want both the companies to succeed.

So – Mark – welcome to Word. They need your leadership and I think good things will happen with you at the helm. And the very best wishes to Shawnee Press as they look to their future.
