SBU Conference

I’m home from Missouri. The dust has settled. And I want to once again thanks Martha Hicks and the wonderful music faculty at Southwest Baptist University for including me in their recent church music conference. (This was the 36th year for the conference, I think. Impressive.)

It was veeeeerrrrry cold in Bolivar, Missouri last week – but the people were warm and friendly. And they treated me like I was a Big Deal (Which I am not).

I had the pleasure of meeting lots of folks, including Duncan Couch – a well-known choral conductor. And I had the opportunity to lead a reading session of all my own charts (always fun, if not a little intimidating), and conducting a concert of music I wrote and arranged (really intimidating).  Fortunately, the musicians from SBU and FBC, Bolivar were well-prepared, making my job (waving my arms about madly) very easy.

BTW – a big “thanks” to Joe Wooderson and the folks at FBC, Bolivar.

I hope I can return to SBU and Bolivar in the future. Until then – best to all.
