Everything old is new again…

I am really pleased to announce that three of my older anthems are being re-released by Alfred Music for Christmas this year.  I wrote these arrangements in the late 1980s.  They have appeared in more than one collection, but they have never been successfully presented as anthems until now.  What’s more, Alfred music has  re-typeset each of them and is offering (for the first time ever) the orchestrations and scores set in Finale.  (Up to now, the scores and parts were photocopies of my original hand-written manuscript.)

The three anthems are:

THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY (released for SATB, SAB, and SS) – This arrangement features a “Bolero”-styled accompaniment.  It was first recorded on a very popular Christmas album in the late 1980s, then found its way into print.

IS THERE ROOM? – A hauntingly lovely song written by my buddy, Chris Machen.  It features a brief a capella section, and a tasteful orchestra accompaniment that features a woodwind section and strings.

WE BEHELD HIS GLORY – I wrote this inspirational ballad with Chris Machen.  It’s a Christmas song that looks to Easter, and ends big and powerful.

I hope you’ll check them out in Alfred’s new Christmas releases.  Also, if you already have these songs in your choir’s library, this is a great opportunity to replace old copies and perhaps get a typeset easy-to-read version of the orchestration.
