An exotic, new interpretation of the ITALIAN HYMN tune, familiarly known with the text of “Come, Thou Almighty King.” The arrangement slips in and out of the Ionian, Mixolydian, and Aeolian modes (with a few accidentals to spare!). Set to a stately drum cadence, it has the feel of an ever-growing, regal processional, as if approaching from a distance and ending fully present right before the listener.
