Chapter 7 (Writing is Re-Writing)
"Let
Us Not Forget" is the song featured in Chapter
7 of The Craft of Christian Songwriting ("Writing is
Re-writing"). This recording is a one-take rough demo
- done by my co-writer, Regi Stone. Though far from a finished
recording, it will give you a clear picture of the song. (Plus,
you can hear what a true "work tape" sounds like.
Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. ~RS
"Jesus
Will Still Be There" was a huge hit for
Point of Grace. You can find it on the first CD and their
Greatest Hits CD. This recording is a demo version - Keyboards
and vocal.
(Many thanks to my wife, Cindy, for the excellent vocal performance
~ RS)
Chapter 9
(Critical Thinking: Song #4)
"Alive
and Well"
Composer's note: Thanks again to Steve Gatlin for allowing
me to post his recording of "Alive and Well" (from
Steve's solo CD - "Love Can Carry") ~ RS
"Take
Me Down"
(Critical Thinking: song #5)
This is my original demo for "Take Me Down" (vocal
courtesy of my wife, Cindy). It contains the unused fourth
verse. ~ RS
"The
Cost of Things"
Here is the original demo for "The Cost of Things."
The vocalist is country session singer, Matt Dame.
"Long
Time After the Rain"
This is the original demo of "Long Time After the Rain,"
vocal performance by Scott Kryppayne. ~ RS
"Bigger
Than That"
Both Warren and I did a demo of "Bigger Than
That." Warren, being the better singer, did the better
demo. Heeeeeere's Warren! ~ RS
"Pray
for Me"
This is the demo of "Pray for Me." Regi
Stone supplied the singing.
"So
Long, Small Town"
OK - so now you get to hear me pretending to sing
like a woman. Hey - it's a demo, remember??? ~ RS
"Casual
Observer"
This is truly a writer's demo. I'm playing the piano
and singing. In doing so - I've set the worldwide standards
for writer's demos back about 15 years. ~ RS
"December
Through My Window"
Here is a simple piano/vocal demo (with a little
synth thrown in for good measure) of "December Through
My Window." Thanks to Cindy -for the lovely vocal performance.
~ RS
